Book Cover Design Overview
If you're a new author, remember the old adage, "Don't judge a book by its cover?" Well, we feel that statement is wrong, because many customers buy books just for the cover and the fact it is in a genre they like to read. We've all done it. An attractive cover can make your book that much better, but it will be the writing, you're writing, that will have to move your work. A cover can get folks to pick a book up, but if they don't buy it, then perhaps the text needs editing or the plot is poor or could be made better.
Book covers can cost a small fortune for the budding author, but we do them at Pearl Graphics for only $100, if you have quality photos or artwork. The photos or art must be at least 300 DPI for us to use them. Contact Us for more information on our book covers.
We have a software program we bought, bookcover pro, and use it for design and layout. It does most of the hard work for us, but it still takes time to clean up and size the cover images, layout the text, and a short synopsis of the book on the back.
